Folks colored candlesticks are of extreme rarity. They do not come up often and when they do they command the attention they deserve. This candlestick was either made from a western glass house (Pittsburgh area) or Boston Sandwich. Lowell Innes notes: The square base was used by both eastern and western glass houses so its hard to attribute to either one. Condition is excellent there is a medium size chip to one of the bases and small common flee size roughness to the edges of some of the ovals otherwise proof condition. Do not sleep on this one. Ht 8 3/4.
Ref Elsholz volume 1, page 44, plate 186 for a similar example just with different form. Also, reference Lowell Innes Book on Pittsburgh Glass page 237 plate 235 for similar candlesticks. ~SOLD~
